When it comes to audio, sound quality can be subjective, and specs don't always tell the whole story. However, measurements are an important part of the design process that provides unbiased information to compliment what we are actually hearing. Through the meticulous process of tweaking, testing, and listening, a greater understanding can be found as to why something sounds good, as opposed to something that sounds merely acceptable.

Hundreds of circuit revisions and component changes were made during the development of the Axe Integrator. We believe the effort was well worth the final result, and hope many others will appreciate it and find it inspiring to play through.

Total Harmonic Distortion

Notice how the THD increases for the same output levels at higher gain settings. The significance, when viewed on a spectrum analyzer, is that the distortion is primarily second harmonic in nature, adding a sought-after musical vibe, much like a fine tube amplifier.
